Dr. Wilson received her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Connecticut-Storrs, Masters of Science in Social Work (MSSW) with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) with a concentration in Clinical Practice and Leadership from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and was Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of North Carolina. She is currently LCSW in the state of Florida.
Her direct practice includes providing mental health and substance abuse therapy to individuals, groups, and families. She has experience working at a university student health center, university counseling center, private practice, and in community mental health agencies."
Current Work
My scholarship focuses on the dimensions of wellness which coincides nicely with the field of social work. Physical Dimension: Caring for your body to stay healthy now and in the future. Intellectual Dimension: Growing intellectually, maintaining curiosity about all there is to learn, value lifelong learning, and responding positively to academic challenges. Expanding knowledge and skills while discovering the potential for sharing your gifts with others. Emotional Dimension: Understanding and respecting your feelings, values, and attitudes and appreciating the feelings of others, and constructively managing your emotions. Feeling optimistic and enthusiastic about your life. Social Dimension: Maintaining healthy relationships, enjoying being with others, developing friendships and intimate relations, caring about others, and letting others care about you. Contributing to your community. Spiritual Dimension: Finding purpose, value, and meaning in your life.
