About
Dr. Vaughan's work in professional training, clinical practice, and research centers on recognizing and affirming the experiences of those that face social stigma based on sexuality, gender, and/or relationship style. She trains doctoral students in clinical psychology and currently conducts research on stigma and positive experiences of those engaged in the CNM who are often LGBTQ+, including The Handbook for CNM-Affirming Practice Affirming Mental Health Practice and scholarship on compersion and CNM healthcare experiences.
Current Work
My work focuses on exploring benefits and unique positive experiences of folks who face social judgment around being LGBTQ+ and/or practice consent-based non-monogamy (consensual non-monogamy or CNM) and supporting health care providers to recognize and support their CNM patients/clients.
