About
Pamela Aronson is professor of sociology and women's and gender studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her research has examined how social structures (including gender, race and class inequalities, and collapsing economic institutions during recent recessions) impact identities and the life course. She has studied the experiences of disadvantaged college students, the transition to adulthood, career development, gendered experiences of work and family, and attitudes toward feminism.
Current Work
Professor Aronson is currently working on three projects: She is writing a book called Gender Revolution: Politics, #MeToo, and Women’s Power with Matthew Fleming. She is examining Sexual Assault Discourse and the #MeToo Movement with Francine Banner, Maureen Linker, and Lisa Martin. She is also conducting a study called Breaking Barriers or Locked Out: How Disadvantaged Students Experience College.
