About
Dr. Williams is a writer, editor, and emerging scholar in the fields of higher education and women and gender studies who was previously a postdoctoral fellow for the National Center for Institutional Diversity. He received an MA in student development administration from Seattle University and a PhD in higher education from Loyola Chicago. He has published in the Journal of Negro Education, Women's Studies International Forum, to name a few. Additionally, he has managed academic publications including the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice.
Current Work
His research broadly focuses on racially-marginalized populations and predominantly-White institutions in higher education. Specifically, he explores the historical experiences of race in predominantly-White institutions, the development of leadership, agency, and activism among women of color college students, and critical governance issues in higher education. His upcoming projects will include the examination of academic capitalism and Whiteness in higher education leadership practice.
