Daphne C. Watkins studies gender disparities and mental health over the adult life course using mixed methods research approaches. Prior to joining the School of Social Work, Professor Watkins completed a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) T32 funded postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Social Research and a National Institutes of Health (NIH) K12 career development award in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, both at the University of Michigan.
Current Work
To date, her research has focused on: (1) behavioral interventions for historically marginalized groups; (2) mixed methods approaches to research in context; and (3) leadership development and organizational structures.
