About
Ellen Meader is a seasoned administrator with more than 30 years of experience in higher education. Prior to her current position in the Provost Office, Ellen worked with the U-M ADVANCE Program focusing on equitable and preemptive strategies in faculty recruitment, retention, climate, and leadership. She also worked in the Rackham Graduate School as a program manager in the Office of Graduate Student Success. She received her PhD from University of Michigan's Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education and has authored research papers on faculty and student success and diversity in higher education.
Current Work
Ellen provides administrative support for diversity strategic planning and research, and faculty initiatives including recruitment, retention, and professional development opportunities. Ellen also coordinates the campus-wide Inclusive Teaching Initiative and other campus-wide faculty-facing programs.
