About
Alexander Jendrusina earned his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He recently returned to Michigan where he now provides health psychology services at the VA as a postdoctoral fellow in the Michigan Medicine and VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System Consortium. Dr. Jendrusina has been involved in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts throughout his graduate career and carries this work forward as a fellow.
Current Work
From a research standpoint, Dr. Jendrusina has examined the relationship between between discrimination and psychological well-being, which was the focus of his dissertation. He wishes to enhance mental health services to include greater support around discriminatory experiences and seeks to become more involved in systemic change. He most recently co-authored a peer reviewed manuscript that highlights the value of using a multicultural informed approach in the provision of clinical supervision to trainees. In his future work, he aims to continue program development that focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion, such as creating and delivering diversity related training workshops. Dr. Jendrusina additionally plans continued engagement in scholarship efforts that broadly investigate how to improve healthcare for patients from underrepresented communities.
