Dr. Lina Jawad is a lecturer at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Dr. Jawad also serves as an adjunct professor at other higher education institutions. She earned her bachelor of science in public health from the American University of Beirut. As an immigrant to the United States 20 years ago, she participated in community health education campaigns and in research that focuses on health disparities. After earning a master's degree in health sciences, she taught health science courses to college students interested in pursuing careers in health occupations. Later, Dr. Jawad earned her doctorate in education. Her research focused on examining college readiness among graduating early college students.
Current Work
Dr. Jawad's current research project include building on her dissertation research and examining how to help first-generation college students and underrepresented populations enroll and succeed in higher education.
