Dr. Rosemary J. Perez is an associate professor in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan. She draws upon her experience as a student affairs practitioner to inform her research that is focused on individual & organizational learning & development in collegiate contexts. In particular, she is interested in how individuals understand themselves & others as they engage across differences in power, privilege, & socially constructed identities.
Current Work
Dr. Perez is working on multiple projects related to equity, diversity, and inclusion in graduate education funded by the National Science Foundation and the Spencer Foundation. She is also engaged in longitudinal mixed-methods research that examines a program designed to support at-promise (e.g., low-income, first-generation, racially minoritized) student success (https://pullias.usc.edu/tslc/) and research exploring critical consciousness among undergraduate college students.
