About
Tahereh Aghdasifar earned her PhD in Cultural Studies with a certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Emory University. She specializes in queer of color critique, transnational feminism, cultural studies of space, and affect theory.
Current Work
Aghdasifar's work focuses on questions of sociality, opacity, and the economy. Her current book project, Queering the Quotidian: Subjecthood and Everyday Erotics in Tehran, is a large scale rhythmanalysis of bra shops in Iran exploring how neoliberal encroachment on such spaces impacts sociality. She is also conducting research for a second project exploring how queer of color installations and performances which refuse audience legibility facilitate modes of relationality outside of identity politics.
