About
Rafael Santana earned his PhD in sociology from the University of Chicago, and is currently a Mellon postdoctoral associate at Cornell University and is co-founder of Bastion HSR, LLC. Among his areas of research, Santana examines the role leaders play in the emergence, success, and failure of local voluntary organizations. He has also formed for-profit and nonprofit companies that train men in the areas of business, leadership, and relationships. Santana lends both his practical and conceptual insights about leadership and masculinity to help his business clients breakthrough patterns of mediocrity that prevent them from producing awe-inspiring results and experiencing success.
Current Work
Santana is developing a nonprofit company that makes available models of masculinity that empowers men to be contributions to each other, to the women they form relationships with, and to society overall. Incorporating over 10 years of experience of working and training men in various men's organizations across the US (in Los Angeles, California, Texas, and New York), Santana coaches and trains men to produce breakthrough results in the areas of leadership, business, and relationship. He and his business partners at Bastion HSR, LLC are in the process of expanding their coaching services to include young men (in high school and college) and to working and middle class men who desire to achieve new levels of success in their professional and personal lives.
