Professor Nosisi Feza is a deputy vice chancellor (DVC) research and postgraduate studies at University of Venda (UNIVEN) in South Africa. Before joining UNIVEN, she was a Campus Rector of Walter Sisulu University, Dean of Humanities of the Central University of Technology, Head of Institute of Science and Technology Education at the University of South Africa, Senior Research specialist at Human Sciences Research Council, research fellow at the University of Northern Iowa for early childhood mathematics and a research assistant at the State University of New York at Buffalo on early childhood mathematics research. Prior to her PhD studies, she was a mathematics lecturer at the University of Port Elizabeth. Her qualitative research expertise is employed on investigating students' of African descendent mathematical thinking processes, mathematics teacher education, differentiated mathematics instruction, and young children's innate mathematical abilities and their development using qualitative inquiry. Her early childhood mathematics research gained her a National Research Foundation C rating.
Current Work
Prof Feza's current research involves secondary analysis of big-scale quantitative studies such as "Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, Mathematics, early childhood mathematics education. She continues investigating use of cultural pedagogy in teaching mathematics in early childhood education.
