Dr. Law’s research focuses on the relationships between noncognitive characteristics, student engagement, and college and career readiness. Presently, he's developing a grounded theory on the relationships between students' noncognitive characteristics and their expected engagement. Dr. Law utilized noncognitive characteristic to develop: (a) early-alert systems for socially and academically at-risk students, (b) first-year living-learning communities, (c) Second, Junior, and Senior-Year Experience Programs.Dr. Law has had the opportunity to present his research and student success programs at state, regional, national, and international conferences. He is currently the president at the Student Success Institute where his team works with K-12 schools, colleges, and universities to develop students’ noncognitive characteristics. He is also developing a network of charter schools that will integrate noncognitive characteristic development into the curriculum.
