Taylan Acar completed his PhD in sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016. After spending a year as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Sociology of University of Tübingen, he is currently an assistant professor of sociology at Bo'aziçi University, Istanbul.
Current Work
Dr. Acar's research interests lie at the intersection of immigration and integration, social stratification and inequality and sociology of education. Specifically, he is interested in the study of social, demographic, and historical processes that shape the experiences of immigrant youth in destination countries, and the ways in which these processes determine the variation in the educational and labor market integration/exclusion of immigrant youth from different countries of origin.
