Na Youn Lee is currently an assistant professor of social work at the University of Mississippi. She received a dual master's degree in social work and international affairs from Columbia University and a PhD in social work and political science from the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on how racial stereotypes, prejudice, and identity shape policy attitudes and race relations at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels.
Current Work
Dr. Lee is the co-PI of the Mississippi Student Success Study, which examines multiple factors associated with college student success. She specifically studies the potential links between micro-aggressions, stereotype threat/promise, panethnic identity, and the levels of political efficacy, support for/opposition to race-based policies, and political engagement among college students. She also collaborates with researchers on developing multidimensional frameworks for understanding power in social work education and for enhancing political efficacy among social work students.
