Broadly, Dr. Lopez is interested in understanding various ways in which people are motivated to change their emotions and cravings to better achieve their goals and lead healthier lives. For one project, he is especially excited to develop personalized interventions where people are trained to use particular emotion regulation strategies best suited for their personality and individualized experiences of emotions and cravings. In another project, Dr. Lopez is examining how patterns of brain activity are reliably predictive of a person's body composition and daily eating patterns.
