Current Work
Dr. Gomez-Aguinaga’s research centers on understanding how the growing diversity of our country impacts the US political system. She has two lines of work related to this agenda. The first examines the political behavior of racial and ethnic groups, with an emphasis on Latinos and immigrants. In this area of work, her research explores how minority languages and non-traditional media influence the political attitudes and turnout of the Latino electorate. The second line of research studies the “who gets what, when and how” in the public policymaking process, centering on policy inequalities among ethno-racial and underrepresented groups face.
