About
Devon Graves is a research fellow for the Success Center at the Foundation for the California Community Colleges. His research focuses on community college students' experiences within the financial aid process. In addition to his research, Devon has served on two of California's higher education governing boards. Devon is a proud product of California's public higher education system. He received his BA from Cal Poly Pomona and MA and PhD from UCLA.
Current Work
Devon's research focuses on understanding the experiences of community college students navigating the financial aid process. Through his research he has examined the impact of strategic nudging in the financial aid process and students' experiences completing the verification process. Devon utilizes a critical lens to argue that certain financial aid policies and practices function as institutional racism.
