Current Work
Dr. Kuchirko's scholarship broadly documents how culture and context shape children's learning. One line of her work focuses on capturing the different kinds of skillsets that ethnic and racial minority children bring to the classroom that aren't recognized by teachers or standardized assessments. Another line of work looks at how different settings (e.g., home, neighborhoods, and school) as well as different activities (e.g., mealtime, book-sharing, play) structure how children interact with others in their community.
