Dr. Raymond Pun (he/him/his) is a librarian in the Bay Area, CA. He has presented extensively and published numerous articles on a variety of topics including information literacy, digital divide, global librarianship, diversity matters in academic libraries and student engagement. He is an active member of the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries. He holds an EdD, a Master of Library Sciences, a Master of Arts in East Asian Studies and a BA in History.
Current Work
Dr. Pun's scholarship explores the impact of the digital divide on ethnic communities during COVID-19. How are public library users of color affected by digital exclusion and the pandemic. Based on his dissertation research, Pun applies critical race framework to trace the narratives and stories of public library users from ethnic communities experiencing digital exclusion. In addition to this research, Dr. Pun is also co-editing a book that highlights the role of academic/research libraries supporting ethnic studies programs and curriculums. This edited book will be published by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Publications in Spring 2021.
