About
Dr. Judith Pérez-Torres is an interdisciplinary scholar with a PhD in educational leadership and policy and a BA in human communication from California State University Monterey Bay. Her research areas include Chicanx & Latinx educational experiences, first year experiences, Chicana feminist thought, critical race theory, and critical race service learning. Dr. Pérez-Torres has published in journals such as InterActions, Culturally Engaging Service-Learning, Critical Race Theory, and Cases in Educational Leadership. She is currently teaching at CSU Fullerton in the College of Education Department. She is a mother of three- Luna (7), Tino (5) and Joaquín (3).
Current Work
Currently, the Chicana M(other)work collective continues to share spaces and present their anthology and work, which includes their podcasts and blog, at several conferences including the National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) conference this past November 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. They are also scheduled to present at the following conferences this year: the San Diego State University Mothers in Academia Conference in March, the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS) Conference in April, and a book press event at the University of Arizona, also in April.
