Dana Murphy (she/her) is an interdisciplinary scholar who specializes in the study, theorizing, and teaching of Black expressive culture, literature, and gender studies. In 2018, she earned her PhD in the English program at the University of California, Irvine, with a focus on Black literature, poetics, and theory in the United States.
Current Work
Her ongoing research interests include Black feminist poetics, decolonization in postcolonial literature, and queer and intergenerational lived experiences in Black diasporic literature and culture. She is currently an assistant professor of English and Black Studies at Caltech.
