Current Work
As it pertains to research interests, Dr. Leon believe academics have the responsibility to positively influence what happens on their campus and in the field through scholarly contributions. Three areas of interest guide his scholarly work: a) the role of chief diversity officers and diversity management in higher education b) the impact of study abroad on students of color c) student retention and success (with a focus on students of color). Broadly, I am interested in understanding how to to create and design campus spaces that maximize individual talent, and continue to understand and refine high impact practices that foster a welcoming and engaging campus climate.
