Christina Wright Fields is a higher education scholar whose research agenda focuses on historically marginalized students' experiences both in K-12 and postsecondary education contexts, social justice and activism, and the influence of teacher and student cultural identities within the classroom. She possesses experience developing student affairs and academic affairs partnerships, overseeing college preparation programs, and multicultural/international initiatives and programs.
Current Work
Dr. Wright Fields' research and teaching interests include issues pertinent to historically marginalized students' access and academic success. This focus is comprised of four interrelated aspects: 1) cultural identity development; 2) college-going cultures; 3) social justice; and 4) campus and community partnerships.She has a few writing projects under review that include: pedagogically reframing implicit bias in classroom spaces, challenging nicehood as womanhood in teacher education, and and understanding dis/ability and job search in higher education.She is currently involved with community partnership project working with youth to explore global arts and social justice. Also, she has an on-going study exploring teacher candidates' experiences with an online action research project with in-service teachers.
