About
Bri is a first-generation, non-binary Latinx queer neurodiverse scholar that focuses their research on transgender people in higher education. Bri graduated from California State University, Fullerton with two bachelor of arts degrees in Sociology and American Studies. In 2013, Bri graduated from The Pennsylvania State University's college student affairs program with a master of education degree. Bri is a PhD Candidate in the higher education leadership program at Colorado State University. He has served as an adjunct faculty at Cal Poly Pomona in Ethnic and Women's Studies for 4.5 years and currently directs an LGBTQ center serving The Claremont Colleges. Bri has worked in higher education professionally since 2013. They do national and regional presentations, consulting, and publications on LGBTQ populations. Bri's practical experience includes trans inclusion policy, gender inclusive facilities on college campuses, inclusive language, and a liberation, feminist, and decolonial framework.
Current Work
Bri has publications on Latinx LGBTQ people, selective college admissions, and trans inclusion policies in higher education. Bri's current dissertation topic is the stories of transgender staff of color reporting discrimination in Higher Education.
