About
Clemon a social epidemiologist whose main research focus is on improving sexual health outcomes for youth, minorities, and other populations. He is an advocate for research that utilizes community-based participatory research principles where communities become centered in the research direction and process. He has been involved in HIV research and advocacy for over 15 years. Prior to coming to the University of Southern Maine, he taught for 3 years at the University of the West Indies, in Barbados and 9 years at Ontario Tech University, Canada. There he mentored graduate, undergraduate, and medical science students. Clemon believes in weaving his research in his teaching, engaging students to think broadly, and to have the vision to improve the health and wellbeing of society through research and community service.
Current Work
Clemon approaches his research through community based research lenses. His focus is on sexual health particularly among minority populations. He is also working on COVID 19 related issues related to sexual minorities.
