Brilliant Mhlanga holds a PhD from the University of Westminster and is currently a member of the Media Group, and a senior lecturer in media cultures at the University of Hertfordshire. His la, the publication is entitled; On virtuality & the aesthetics of spectacle: Nationalist imaginations of Mthwakazi & its passions of semblance?, appeared in the Critical Arts - Journal of the North-South Cultural Studies, Vol. 31(1) (2017). He also edited the book Bondage of Boundaries & Identity politics in Postcolonial Africa: The Northern Problem & ethno-futures (2013). Dr. Mhlanga is currently working on a number of topics, among them a project provisionally titled: On the Banality of Evil: Cultural Particularities & Genocide in Africa. His research interests include broadcasting history, development communication, community radio, ethnic minority media, ethnicity, nationalism and postcolonial studies, media policies & political economy of the media.
