Linda DeAngelo is an assistant professor of higher education in the administrative and policy studies department and faculty fellow in the Center for Urban Education at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her PhD in higher education and organizational change from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2008. Just prior to her appointment at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. DeAngelo was the assistant director for research at the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA and prior to that, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Educational Assessment also at UCLA. Her publications have appeared in American Educational Research Journal, The Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, and Innovative Higher Education. She is on the the editorial review board of Teaching in Higher Education, and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of College Student Development, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, and the American Educational Research Journal, among others.
Current Work
Projects include: 1) a project on gendered and racialized experiences of women in engineering programs, 2) a project on equity and justice in mentoring students of color, 3) several projects on degree completion gaps for minoritized students.
