Brenda Venezia teaches in the English department at Fresno State University, where she serves as the advisor of the San Joaquin Literary Association, a student organization. She is certified as an UndocuAlly and an LGBTQ+ SafeZone Ally on campus, and works with both the campus Dream Success and Cross-Cultural and Gender Centers. She is the director of Fresno Women Read, a community literary programming organization, and her work has appeared or is forthcoming in several literary magazines and journals.
