Harmony A. Reppond is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Dearborn. She earned her M.A. in Experimental Psychology from San Jose State University and her Ph.D. in Psychology and Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Reppond a social psychologist who studies the intersectional causes and consequences of economic inequality and social class in the United States.
Current Work
Income inequality has reached levels last seen just before the Great Depression. Social class influences all aspects of our lives, from our individual beliefs, interpersonal experiences, and expectations of institutional responsibility for socioeconomic issues. Dr. Reppond is a social psychologist who utilizes critical and feminist psychological epistemologies to study social class. Dr. Reppond employs quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the causes and consequences of economic inequality. The overarching goal of Dr. Reppond's research is to inform public policy and social and economic justice initiatives.
