Dr. Eman Tadros is an Assistant Professor and the Marriage and Family Counseling Track Leader at Governors State University in the Division of Psychology and Counseling. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist, MBTI certified, and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She is the Illinois Family TEAM leader advocating for MFTs and individuals receiving systemic mental health services. Her research focuses on incarcerated couples and families.
Current Work
Dr. Tadros's research focuses on incarceration and the impact on the family system. She advances what is known about family dynamics and improve treatment with this population. Research on incarceration must center on the impacts on family systems to strengthen relationships and improve overall family dynamics. Interestingly, there is a wealth of research on parents of incarcerated children and children of an incarcerated parents, however, there is a dearth in the literature on other members of the family unit such as siblings and coparents. Further, this gap showcases the little information known about less commonly studied individuals impacted by incarceration.
