Kimberly A. Truong, Ph.D. has 20+ years of experience advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as a strategist and leader in education. Currently, she serves as Chief Equity Officer at MGH Institute of Health Professions, a graduate school within the Mass General Brigham system. Dr. Truong has taught Critical Race Theory at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for the past 12 years. She is founder and principal at XEM Consulting Services, LLC. Dr. Truong is nationally recognized for being a leader in the equity in education space, both as a researcher and administrator. Dr. Truong conducts research on justice and equity issues in higher education, university student experiences, and higher education policy. Her written works have been published in journals and websites, such as the Harvard Educational Review, Inside Higher Ed, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Insight into Diversity, and Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.
Current Work
My research has been about how people of color experience racism in higher education, the preparation of students to work with marginalized and minoritized populations in the health professions, and engaging in justice and equity work in higher education.
