Current Work
It has always been Dr Nwaezeigwe’s intention to break new grounds against the backgrounds of conflicting Western and African nationalistic traditions of African historical scholarship. Broadly defined, his areas of research interest fall into three sub-themes— Black Africa-Middle East Relations, Ethno-Religious Conflicts, and Trans-Atlantic relations. All these three sub-themes although broadly defined in their respective scopes, are nevertheless intersecting in their respective characteristic details. For instance, one cannot speak of Black Africa-Middle East Relations without looking at the religious dimension. This religious dimension goes further to manifest itself in the broad theme of Trans-Atlantic relations and subsequent ethnoreligious conflicts. This broad spectrum of research interest has no doubt contributed in no small measure to ensure the flexibility of his research focus. He is I am currently working on post-genocide reconciliation, identity definition and nationalism
