Current Work
Dr. Jones' scholarship explores diversifying the educator workforce by beginning with middle and high school students. In California, where 30% of the educator workforce are BIPOC educators while 70% of students are from BIPOC backgrounds, this is a challenge that requires a creative research-based approach to filling the teacher pipeline. Dr. Jones and her team have developed Educator Pathways to address the barriers BIPOC individuals often face that prevents them from entering into the profession. The goal of this project is to ensure sustainability, effectiveness, replicability.
