Current Work
My research focuses on issues of race and technology, considering how digital platforms and data-driven technologies are connected to both the reproduction and contestation of racial inequality. I'm wrapping up a project about targeted ads as racially discriminatory platforms and currently working on two projects: 1) an interview-based study of how small business owners of color navigate digital platforms and skills building; and 2) a collaborative project mapping Asians in Southeast Michigan through novel data and digital sources.
