About
Ziqiao Wang is a postdoctoral fellow in Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University. Her research is in the interdisciplinary fields of statistical genetics, genomics, and epidemiology. She develops new statistical and computational methods that can help address important public health issues. In her work, she explores gene-environment interactions to enhance the understanding of complex diseases in multi-ancestry populations. Her projects contribute to filling the knowledge gaps regarding historically underrepresented populations.
Current Work
Dr. Wang's current research has been dedicated to improving the interpretation and application of polygenic scores (PGS) in large-scale epidemiologic studies that involve multi-ancestry populations. In particular, one part of her work is to develop novel statistical methods to jointly model gene-environment correlations and interactions using PGS in case-control studies, with data applications in large biobanks. Another aspect of her work is to estimate risk parameters in polygenic models from family-based studies to investigate autism spectrum disorders and orofacial clefts.
