Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Crandall is a Project Director at Rankin Climate, a consulting group aimed at leveraging data toward equity and organizational change. With a decade-long background in student affairs, Dr. Crandall transitioned to academia, serving as faculty in the higher education programs at Oregon State University and The Ohio State University.
Becky earned her Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis with a specialization in Higher Education from North Carolina State University. When she’s not being a professional nerd, Becky enjoys cheering on the Portland Thorns women’s soccer team, adventuring with friends, and finding new hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Current Work
Dr. Crandall’s scholarly approaches are hallmarked by a commitment to equity and supporting minoritized student populations. Specifically, she explores questions relevant to campus climate and the welfare, success, and development of student populations including intercollegiate athletes, religious minority students, and LGBTQ+ students. Her work has appeared in outlets including the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, the Journal of Homosexuality, and the Journal of College Student Development.
