Emily Dove-Medows is a certified nurse midwife and nurse scientist. Her program of research is focused on ending preventable morbidity and mortality related to racism. Her most recent contributions include introducing new qualitative measures of residential segregation and mixed methods studies that explore Black women’s perceptions of neighborhood disorder, discrimination, and preterm birth. Her current work explores communication between maternity care providers and Black women during reproductive health encounters.
