About
Dr. Lubomir Popov is a Professor in the School of Applied Human Development, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. He has a Ph.D. degree in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Architecture. Dr. Popov works in the area of sociocultural aspects of built environment, applying sociological theories and methods to facilities planning and programming. He envisages several projects where facility programming can be used as a platform for facilitating underrepresented and traditionally disempowered social groups to stand for their environmental needs and requirements. Dr. Popov has published three monographs and over fifty refereed papers. He has over two hundred and fifty refereed and invited conference presentations. Dr. Popov has been awarded a Fellow status by the Design Research Society (UK) and is a recipient of the McGraw-Hill Distinguished Scholar Award by the EQRC and the Robert Ezra Park Award for Sociological Practice by the AACS.

Dr. Popov works on sociocultural aspects of facilities planning/programming; organizational design, program planning; social design, design thinking, design process; and knowledge utilization/translation.
