Current Work
Saloni Mahajan's research involves an exploration of the intricate connections created by costumes within performances. The project begins with an analysis of the material weaves and interconnected links that constitute the very fabric of costumes, positioning them as important elements in performances.
Shifting the focus to the symbiotic relationship between costumes and experiences, Saloni's research not only studies how designers infuse their expertise into the design process but also delves into the impact of contributors who enrich the costume-making process with their lived experiences. This investigation extends beyond, delving into the interplay between costumes and the human body, exploring their transformative power in turning actors into characters and establishing a unique connection with spectators. The project broadens to include the connections costumes establish with technology, history, and the social, political, and creative dimensions of performance.
