About
Jeannine Meza is an Associate Professor of Social Work at UMass Global. Jeannine’s primary responsibilities at UMass Global include teaching, mentoring, and course development and oversight. Prior to serving at UMass Global, she served as faculty in social work and Title IV-E Field Coordinator at California State University, San Bernardino from 2012-2018. She received the “Most Inspiring Professor” award in 2015, “Most Outstanding Faculty Member” award in 2016 from the CSUSB Social Work Student Association, and the BASW Faculty of the Year award in 2022 from UMass Global’s Social Work Department. She has 24 years of social work experience working primarily in child welfare, child and adolescent mental health, juvenile justice, and school social work settings. Jeannine earned her M.S.W. at the University of Southern California and her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA. She recently graduated with her D.S.W. from Simmons University in May 2023.
Current Work
Dr. Meza's current projects are infusing antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion into the implicit and explicit curriculum in social work as well as researching and training on best practices for faculty and staff to support first-generation college students in an online learning environment.
