Current Work
Baffour's scholarship promotes strategies to dismantle systemic racism within higher education. With colleagues across disciplines and institutions, she embarked on a scoping review of more than 23,000 documents of anti-racism programs and practices in higher education (Baffour et. al., 2023) Along with her colleague, Shonda Lawrence, she produced a two-volume issue titled “A Call for Social Work Educators to Confront and Dismantle Systemic Racism Within Social Work Programs.” The special issue amplified the narratives and experiences of faculty, and students dismantling systemic racism in social work programs globally. Inspired by the development of the Special Call, Baffour produced a scholarly personal narrative centering critical race theory and institutional strategies to promote EDI, particularly in STEM disciplines (Baffour, 2023). Her current scholarly projects examine citation bias, sense of belonging among BIPOC students and the impact of COVID-19 on student mental health.
