Bonnie Moradi is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Florida. Dr. Moradi’s research examines people’s experiences of different forms of discrimination and the implications of these experiences for health, work, education, and organizations. Dr. Moradi has published 100+ papers and garnered 30+ honors for her work. Dr. Moradi is the recipient of national awards including the American Psychological Association (APA) Society of Counseling Psychology Best in Science Award, APA Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award, APA Committee on Women in Psychology Leadership Award for Scholarship, and multiple distinguished publication awards. Her work has been funded by agencies such as the American Psychological Foundation, Mellon Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health.
Current Work
Dr. Moradi’s work uses qualitative and quantitative methods to (a) understand people’s experiences of different forms of discrimination and how these experiences impact health, work, education, and organizational contexts; (b) evaluate social policy arguments related to gender, race, and sexuality; (c) investigate how we create science and who and what are included and excluded in the production of science; and (d) analyze how concepts like diversity, intersectionality, and social justice are used and misused in organizations, science, and public discourse.
