Hermen Díaz III, Ph.D (he/him/his) is an assistant professor in the Higher Education Administration Department at SUNY-Buffalo State College. Dr. Díaz brings over a decade of experience as a scholar-practitioner in higher education administration. His scholarly interests center on the experiences of students of color at institutions of higher education. Dr. Diaz's research specifically concentrates on the transactional relationship between the campus environment and Latinx/o men as it relates to belonging, equity and liberation. Dr. Díaz focuses on creating a collaborative and co-constructed learning environment that empowers aspiring/current student affairs practitioners. Dr. Díaz received a B.A. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, a M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from the SUNY Buffalo State College and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University.
Current Work
My scholarship focuses on student success and higher education administration (academic and co-curricular programs). My direct focus is how identity (specifically race, ethnicity, and gender) informs the experiences of students and higher education administrators.
