Victoria E. Rodriguez, PhD, MSW, MPH is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the UCLA Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Training in Urologic and Gynecologic Cancers (PCORT UroGynCan) T32 training program. As a first-generation college student, Dr. Rodriguez recently graduated with a PhD in Public Health from UC Irvine. Previously, she received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and a dual Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California. Dr. Rodriguez's research focuses on advancing health equity among marginalized and underserved populations utilizing mixed methods and social epidemiological approaches. Specifically, she works to examine disparities in gynecologic cancer treatment, survivorship, and health-related quality of life. Outside of research, Dr. Rodriguez is passionate about mentoring first-generation and underrepresented students and is dedicated to increasing inclusive excellence in higher education.
Current Work
Dr. Rodriguez's is working to understand the experiences after cancer treatment and the health-related quality of life among young racial/ethnic minority women who have survived gynecologic cancer. Through a combination of in-depth individual interviews and a quantitative cross-sectional survey, Dr. Rodriguez seeks to highlight the voices and experiences of this unique and diverse group of gynecologic cancer survivors in order to provide critical insights into how to improve survivorship care after cancer treatment and quality of life for young women from marginalized and underserved communities.
