Mohamed-Khadar Qas, (
[email protected]), is an academic advisor with the College of Liberal Arts’ President’s Emerging Scholars (PES) Program at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. As a research associate with the Community College Equity Assignment Lab (CCEAL) at SDSU, Mohamed has co-authored several impactful statewide reports, including When They Teach Us: The Education of Black Children in San Diego. He holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a Student Affairs emphasis from San Diego State University and is a PhD candidate in the Joint Doctoral Program between SDSU and Claremont Graduate University. His work focuses on exclusionary discipline practices in K-12 settings, emphasizing relational interactions between educators and students of color. In his free time, Mohamed enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and watching UFC/boxing.
