Additionally, I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in trauma and eating disorders and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Social Work.
Current Work
My research revolves around understanding and improving mental health, especially for those who have experienced trauma, and promoting social justice. I explore how experiences, particularly challenging or traumatic ones, impact a person's emotional and psychological well-being. I'm dedicated to finding effective ways to support and heal individuals who have gone through difficult times. Trauma-informed processes are a key part of my work. This means creating environments in schools, workplaces, and healthcare settings that recognize the signs and effects of trauma. The aim is to ensure these spaces are safe and supportive, helping individuals feel understood and respected. I work on addressing inequalities and supporting communities often marginalized or underserved.
