Current Work
I am dedicated to achieving excellence in research, demonstrated by a solid publication history and a continuous research agenda that encompasses scholarly publications, grant writing, and conference presentations. I have authored five books, authored and coauthored several peer-reviewed scholarly articles, book chapters, book reviews, and encyclopedia entries, covering subjects such as immigration and security, global climate change, sovereignty in a borderless economy, the geospatial significance of maritime disputes in Asia, and ocean governance in Southeast Asia, Belt and Road, etc. My research will continue to explore key global issues with a focus on how security and economic priorities intersect in international relations. Additionally, I am interested in the ongoing challenges of ethnic cleansing, such as the crisis involving the Rohingyas in Myanmar, and how nonviolent resistance movements can play a role in addressing these humanitarian issues
