Current Work
Dr Ozor Commer's research explores the self-care practices of social workers who self-identify as activists and/or advocates. Her dissertation focused on the presence of white saviorism in three contexts: (1) social responsibility organizations (SROs), (2) conscious consumerism, and (3) transracial adoption which is when a child is adopted by an adult who is a different race/ethnicity then the child. Another area in which Dr Ozor Commer's scholarship extends is the relationships between Black women and white women in various industries, contexts, and fields.
