Julia Warren Ballenger, Ph.D., 2020 Regents Professor, has been an educator in public and private institutions, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and higher education for over forty years. Dr. Ballenger teaches in the Doctoral and Master’s Programs in Educational Leadership in the College of Education and Human Services. Dr. Ballenger’s research agenda includes leadership for social justice, democracy, diversity, inclusion, equity, and intercultural competencies.
Dr. Ballenger serves in various editorial roles at the International, National, and State levels. She is one of the editors of the Research on Women and Education Book Series, Information Age Publishers. Dr. Ballenger is also one of the managing editors for the Advancing Women in Leadership Journal (AWL).

Irby, TAMU, and other colleagues as part of the Research on Women and Education Book Series published by The Information Age Publishing, Inc. Four stem-related books were published.
Dr. Julia Ballenger is currently involved in the Voices from the Field 5 Research Project, sponsored by the University Council of Educational Administration, a consortium of higher education institutions committed to advancing the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the benefit of schools and children. The project aims to engage practitioners (former principals and assistant principals) statewide in a discussion of their preparation related to race.
